POWERFUL TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE STUDYING

In order to excel in School/College, you must first learn how to study properly. Contrary to historical opinion, there are many effective ways to learn information; it is a question of figuring out what works for you.What type of studying best suits for you? What time of the day are you most efficient? What is the proper environment for you to study in?

                                       Before you can answer these questions, you have to do a little research. It takes an effort but the rewards are more than worth it.

Memory

When we first learn something, information is processed into the brain to form a neural trace. This trace first enters your sensory memory, and then, if you are paying attention, to your Short Term Memory (STM). If you keep working to process the information and adapt it correctly it then moves to your Long Term memory (LTM). The information processed into your LTM is more or less permanent; with occasional reviewing you will not forget it. The trick is to adapt the information you really need into your LTM as quickly as possible. Your STM has a small capacity and a short duration; you may learn something very quickly, but in 24 hours you will loose 80% of that information. The STM is fast and easily accessed, the LTM is slower but larger.

Repetition

The key to learning something well is repetition; the more times you go over the material the better chance you have of storing it permanently. Before you begin this process, however, it makes sense that you determine the type of learner you are.

There are three basic types of learning:

(1)   Visual

(2)   Auditory

(3)   Haptic

In fact, most of us are combination of the three, but chances are one style will suit us more than the other two. Take some time to look over the types and figure out which category best describes your method of learning.

Learning Types

(1)   Visual Learners

Visual learners study best when the material is graphic, i.e. charts, tables, maps, etc. When in class, visual people should look at the Teachers when they are speaking, participate in class discussions and take detailed notes during lectures. When studying, study alone in a quiet place and try to transcribe your material on the paper. When possible make drawings, graphs or tables of complex abstract ideas and work alone.

(2)   Auditory Learners

Auditory people work best when they can hear the material. Read aloud, go over your notes and talk to yourself about the important points. Before reading, set a purpose and verbalize it, after you have finished be sure to summarize out loud what you just read. Speak your ideas into a tape machine as if you were having a conversation with someone, if you can, talk to your friends about the material. Because Auditory learners sometimes have trouble keeping columns aligned, try doing math computations by hand, on graph paper.

(3)   Haptic Learners

These are most maligned division; they are the people that can’t sit still. Haptics have to pace around the room, they must have music or a television playing in the background and are almost constantly finding themselves distracted. Despite what parents and teachers have been saying to the contrary, Haptic learning is a just as effective as the other two, more traditional types. Instead of fighting against your nature, adapt to it and find a method that really works for you.Make studying more physical; work at a standing desk, pace around the room, do reading while on an exercise bike, chew gum. Try to use colour when you cam; highlight your readings, read with a filtered light, put posters and bright colour around your desk. When reading, try skimming over the chapter to get a solid basic meaning before you really dig in. Try to visualize complex projects from start to finish before you can begin them. Visualization is a useful tool for Haptic people, it helps you keep a positive, productive outlook on the task at hand.

There are as many different ways to study as there are different people. The trick is to find the study tips that work best for u. The following lists are tips that have worked best for the greatest number of people. Some of them may work for you, some won’t, but try them all and work out your own study plan.

·         Study in the Same Place

Find a quite place, away from distractions, with ample room to work. Once you’ve found it, study at the same place every time. It could be a desk in your bedroom, the kitchen table, or the local library. Laying down on your bed or sprawled across the living room rug are generally not good study places.

·         Study at the Same Time

Figure out what time of the day you can concentrate best, and what works into your schedule. Use that time every day to study. Try to make sure it is not too late in the evening.

·         Use a Homework Box

Keep all your homework supplies in one place, ready to be used. Keep them organized, and you won’t need to waste your time searching for supplies.

·         Cut Out All Distractions

You need to be able to concentrate on your homework and nothing else. The TV should be off, other people’s conversations should be in another room, music should be turned down, and phone calls should be taken after you’ve finished studying. Any other thoughts in your mind should also be set aside for a later time.

·         Do the Hard Stuff First

If you are dreading a particular assignment, or know it requires a lot of extra effort, do it first. Your brain will be fresh. Besides, you won’t have to dwell on it while you are working on the other homework.

·         Schedule Long term Projects

Larger products need to be broken into smaller components to make them manageable. For example, these components could be such things as gathering notes, writing a rough draft, making corrections or additions, writing a bibliography, and completing the final copy. Set yourself a deadline for completing each component and make sure you stick to it.

·         Review Regularly

Homework is not just that which is assigned every night. A regular review of your notes should be a part of your homework plan. This takes just a few minutes each day, but will pay off considerably when it comes to test time.

·         Write Up a Contract

Sit down with your parents and write up a homework contract at the beginning of each term. This sets out in writing what is expected of each of you and gives all of you input into your homework plan.

·         Schedule Each Homework Session

When you sit down to do your homework, make up a quick schedule as to how you are going to use your time. Break it up into blocks of time that you will spend on each task.

·         Avoid Doing a marathon

             If you have followed the previous tips, this last one should never happen. However, you need to know that marathon study sessions are the least productive way to study.

Natural Numbers : The numbers use for counting are called Natural Numbers,i.e,1,2,3,4,………..are called natural or counting numbers. It is denoted by N.

Even Numbers: The numbers which are exactly divisible by 2 are called Even numbers.e.g: 2, 4, 6…….

Marked Price or Catalogue Price: The cost fined by the manufacturers of an article is called Marked Price.

Linear equation: An equation in which the highest index of the variables present is 1 is called a Linear equation. e.g.: 2x+5y

Set: A set is a well-defined collection of objects.

Null or Empty set: A set which don’t have any elements.

Singleton Set: If a set contained only one element is called as Singleton Set

This movie is facing so many problems in Andhra for releasing due to the seemandhra affect. In so many places in Andhra the film didn’t release and the theatre owners are scaring to release as they got strong warning from JAC.The main cast and crew of this movie are ramcharan,priyanka chopra,mahie gill,prakash raj,srihari,thanikeela bharani.so far the reviews received on this movie is not up to the mark. In Andhra the producers filed a petition for the safe release of Zanjeer without any disturbances and court ordered that police protection will be given to the theatres for the safe release of Zanjeer.

                  Some are stating that this movie is average and it does not have any interesting element .The movie is same as it is like old movie without any new things.Sanjaydutt character is nice and scenes between sanjay dutt and ramcharan came out well. Music of the film is not up to the mark, the album doesnot have any cache songs from all the songs. Sunil is a comedy actor in telugu film industry. He was born on Feb 1974 near bhemavaram.He is a fan of Megastar Chiranjeevi.In his childhood he used to watch maximum chiranjeevi films and he was much influenced by chiranjeevi.Sunil first started his carrer as a comedian and got good name. His first film as a comedian was nuvve kavali which was directed by vijaybhaskar and tharun as a lead hero, this film was a huge hit. After this he acted in chirunavvutho with venu as a hero, this movie also got good name for him.
