Akkineni Nagarjuna

Nagarjuna Akkineni is an Indian Actor who acted in telugu, hindi and tamil films. He is the son of Sri Akkineni Nageswara Rao, a senior telugu film actor. He was born on August 29 1959 in tamil nadu.He completed his B.E. from college of engineering, tamil nadu.Later he completed his M.S. in Automobile Engineering from Eastern Michigan University. In 1967, he entered into telugu film industry as a child artist. In 1986, his first lead role film started in the direction of V.madhusudhan Rao and the film name was Vikram.In 1988, he acted in the film Akari poratam directed by Sri K.Ragavendra Rao opposite to sridevi.

             In 1989, his love based film Geethanjali was released directed by maniratnam.This film was a blockbuster at that time and broke the records. Repeated audiences were coming for watching this cute love story especially youth. This film won national award. In 1990, he acted in the movie Shiva directed by Ramgopalvarma which was a action entertainer. This film was also a super hit film and collected huge revenues at that period. In 1994, he entered into bollwood and he acted in the direction of one of the top director’s of bollywood known as Mahesh batt in the movie Criminal. In 1996, he acted in the movie ninnepelladutha which was a family entertainer movie directed by Krishna vamsi and produced by nagarjuna himself in Annapurna studios banner. This film got good response from the audience and especially from the family audience. This movie won national award for the best feature in telugu language and at the same time it also won film fare award to nagarjuna as a best producer. This is the first film fare award to nagarjuna as a producer.

            In 2004, he released two films the first movie was nenuuanu directed by V.N.Aditya and music composed by M.M.Keeravani.In this movie all songs are good. It is a musical hit film. Later he released the movie Mass in the direction of Lawrence who turned from choreographer to director. In 2006, he acted in the devotional film called Sri Ramadasu in the direction of sri K.Ragavendra rao.For this film nagarjuna received Nandi Award from the state government.Nagajuna is one of the main share holder in MAA TV group of channels.
